SOGIE TRAINING
Hi friends!,
We are on the exciting journey to seek to become a Reconciling in Christ church. On Sunday, November 3, 2024, we are honored to host Aubrey Thonvold, Executive Director of Reconciling Works, as she provides in person training as we learn more about sex, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. This training is especially important for leaders in the congregation (staff, council, etc), but also important for all of us as we seek to deepen and expand the holy work of welcome, inclusion, and celebration of LGBTQIA+ people in the church. We would love for you and your congregation members to join us! Those congregations who are already RIC churches, perhaps your staff and council need to go through this training for the first time, or maybe would like a refresher. For those who are not RIC, this would be a great way to learn more and begin discernment if this would be right for your congregation. Whatever your motivation, I hope you will join us.

Our service ends around 11:15 and we will do a quick turnaround and begin the training promptly at 11:30 in our sanctuary. The training is about 90 minutes. We do share a parking lot with Kirkland Place Shelter, but Lake Washington High School across the street graciously lets us use their parking lot for overflow parking.
