Bultman's Birthday Cake for Jesus

This tradition has old symbolism that goes way back in my family. I've even shared this tradition in various church settings.

Our family makes a birthday cake for Jesus.

• The cake is a round chocolate cake covered with white frosting - you choose the recipe.
• Add a ring of evergreens around the cake to represent eternal life.
• Place 12 red candles to show that Jesus shed his blood because he loves us every day of the year.
• Add a star and an angel are also on top as the first to point the way to the manger.
• And a white center candle for the Christ light.
